The game is turn-based and it is played clockwise. Every player gets one card. When it is your turn, you pick another card and play one of them. Each card has a different effect and value. Study them before your first play. There is a fixed number of cards in the deck for every value, which is shown in brackets. For example there is always one princess, which is shown by '(1)'. (The number and types of card changes with the premium edition. There 16 cards in the normal edition and 32 cards in the premium.)
Princess Annette (Prinzessin) | 8, once in deck | If you play it, you are out. |
Countess Wilhelmina (Gräfin) | 7, once in deck | If you have king (6) or prince (5), you must play it. |
King Arnaud IV (König) | 6, once in deck | If played, the target has to switch cards with you. |
Prince Arnaud (Prinz) | 5, twice in deck | If played, the target has to drop their card. |
Handmaid Susannah (Zofe) | 4, twice in deck | If played, you can't be targeted for this round. |
Baron Talus (Baron) | 3, twice in deck | If played, you compare your card with the target. The higher one wins. |
Priest Tomas (Priester) | 2, twice in deck | If played, you can see the card of the target. |
