Try to win the majority of the habitats

Playing a card Players take turns playing a card into a habitat on their side of the board either face-up or face-down. They can only play cards into habitats that are not full. A habitat is full when it has 3 cards. - When playing a card face up, it must match the habitat it is placed in. - When playing a card face down, it is not required to match the habitat. Players can only play a total of 3 face-down cards on their side of the board. After playing a card, the opponent must take the card from the habitat‘s breeding zone (card on the board in the middle) into their hand and a new card is added to the breeding zone.

Check for habitat majority After playing a card into a habitat, check the habitat majority. Players win a habitat by having the highest value of combined card value (only face-up cards) in that habitat. If so, move the habitat marker onto their side of the board. Otherwise, it stays where it is.

Game end There are 3 ways to end the game. 1. If a player has all 5 animal tokens on their side of the pond – they win the game immediately. 2. If a player cannot play a card – they lose the game immediately. 3. If both sides of the pond are full (3 cards in each habitat).

If the game ends by both sides of the pond becoming full – players now reveal all their face-down cards and check the habitat majority in each of the 5 habitats. If the revealed card matches the habitat it is added to the total value, if not its value is 0. - The habitat marker is moved to the side with the highest value of combined value. - But if the value is double (or more) than their opponents, the habitat is overpopulated and the other player wins that habitat instead.

The player with the most habitats wins the game.
